The Law of Correspondence states that patterns repeat throughout the universe.
This Spiritual Law is best applied when thinking about your attitude toward a goal that you may have. A goal of sobriety, for instance. If you have a positive emotional and mental attitude toward the goal, you will have a better chance of fulfillment in your human experience.
This is where “As above, so below” and “As within, so without” come from.
If you deeply feel positive about reaching a goal, it has a much better chance of fulfillment. If you have a negative feeling about it, it is all uphill. Your outcome is determined by the correspondence between your attitude and your goal.
Of course, this brings the question what do you really want?
Do you truly want to be Happy, Joyous, and Free? Then think, act, and feel positive about it. If you wish to feel miserable and sad, then think, act, and feel that the goal may be too much work or “Just not for me.”
Those who question and argue against all or parts of the program have an excellent chance of returning to the madness.
People who embrace the simple program for complicated folks, AA, and express their happiness, joy, and freedom about it, have an excellent chance of recovery.
Thus, it all comes down to choices!
What do you choose? Simply say the shortened version of the 3rd Step, “God, help me,” check your attitude, and move on! If this is difficult at first then throw in a “Fake it ‘till you make it.” Or an “Act as if.”
Whichever you choose, JUST DO IT and then move on.
Thank you, God!
