How does God love? Simple! God loves unconditionally. From the old song that is sung by any number of different people of all types, “Jesus loves me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so,” we hear about Divine love.
Unconditional love is taken very simply to mean: Love without strings attached.
Most believe the Higher Power practices unconditional love. A living, breathing example of an unconditional love practitioner can be found in many households worldwide.
This example is a dog. A dog loves its person with no strings attached. Some dog owners abuse the pup, but the dog keeps on wagging its tail and wanting to come back for more love. (and a goodie, of course)
Since the passing of my dog, Oreo, Rumi, my cat, decided he had waited long enough to get my attention, so he adopted me. He picked up where Oreo had left off in their quest to teach me about the concept of unconditional love.
He took to me immediately and, since I have been a dog person all of my human life, he even acts like a dog much of the time. He greets me at the door with love whenever I return and will even play fetch with me when I toss a soft object for him to chase.
He brings it back, drops it at my feet, and lies down waiting for me to toss it again so he can chase it and return it.
We were born into this Human Experience as spiritual beings living in a spiritual universe that is governed by spiritual law. As a divine being, we are individualized expressions of God and one with all that exists.
What this all means is that, when born into the Human Experience portion of our eternal life, we are spiritual and perfect. We are born in God’s image, meaning that we love unconditionally.
For the nine months leading up to this birth, we are being “taken care of” by God while in the womb, and during this time, we did not even have to breathe, and our heartbeat was begun and continued by the Higher Power.
As soon as birth occurred, other human beings “took over” and things began to change, and some of the changes were not so good.
When working on your own unconditional love, you can get some good insight by taking your mind back to the love you shared with your pets throughout your life, and their life.
Eckhart Tolle said, “Thought subsides when you pet your dog or you have a purring cat on your chest. Even just watching an animal can take you out of your mind.
It is more deeply connected with the source of life than most humans, and that rootedness in Being transmits itself to you. Millions of people who otherwise would be completely lost in the conceptual reality of their mind are kept sane by living with an animal.”
To teach us all how to love unconditionally, God has given us some marvelous educators to help. You can recognize them by their four paws and a tail.
Of course, this gives me an immediate answer to the question How do we learn how to practice unconditional love?
And to the question How do we love like God loves? Unconditionally, without judgment.
Thank you, God!

This analogy you make about how animals "see" us is quite stunning. It is even more astounding if you've experienced the intuition that certain animals have with humanity. Horses being used to help abused women heal through "trust" therapy. Dogs bein used in old age homes to help with the treatment of especially seniors with Alzheimers. I can go on, but those are not superficial examples, I personally witnessed this, saw the positive results. The downside is how well e.g. a dog and a horse will remember if you treated it badly. Yet I observe especially today's generation having zip zero appreciation for this because their addiction to the digital realm has blinded them, probably for life.
Love never fails 🌾
